Dr. Nazek El Khoury

Dr. Nazek El Khoury is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. She completed her Doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology from Saint Joseph University, Lebanon in 1995, with her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in 1989 and 1985 respectively. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and Ministry of Health in Lebanon.With three decades of practice in Clinical Psychology as well as academics, Dr. El Khoury gained deep and enriching insight into psychology and psychotherapy since 1990.

She held lead roles in clinical psychology and psychotherapy departments across teaching hospitals, NGOs, rehabilitation units, and private clinics in Lebanon. She has worked with children and adults presenting with personality, social, anxiety, mood, and eating disorders, PTSD, developmental disorders, addictions, psychological impact of chronic health disorders in children while offering assessment and therapeutic interventions for all these conditions. Her extensive academic role saw her in the role of Full Professor of Psychology at the Lebanese University in Beirut for over twenty-five years until 2022.

Being in academics, she was engaged in research and publications, training and professional development, and student supervision at various notable universities in Lebanon including Saint Joseph University, and Holy Spirit University of Kaslik.Dr. El Khoury works closely with multidisciplinary teams, therapists, caregivers, and families in understanding each patient and ensuring they receive the best of mental healthcare. She is trained in using assessments and evidence-based therapies including CBT, psychoanalytic psychodrama, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy to ensure the best outcomes for her clients.
