Taahirah Ebrahim

Ms. Taahirah Ebrahim is anOccupational Therapist at ACPN in Abu Dhabi. She earned her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with Honors from Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, South Africa, in 2015. Ms. Ebrahim is a licensed OT in South Africa (HPCSA), the UK (HCPC), and the UAE (HAAD). She is trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and DIR Floortime techniques, emphasizing the development of functional emotional capacities.

Ms. Ebrahim’s career spans over 9 years of experience working across pediatric and adult populations in various healthcare settings, including outpatient clinics, community-based environments, schools, and specialized rehabilitation centers. Starting her career in South Africa in 2016, at Sedibeng District Health Services, she supported children with severe intellectual and physical disabilities. Moving to the UAE in 2019, she worked at Amana Healthcare, a Mubadala Health Partner in the UAE until 2023 providing care for pediatric and adult patients in post-acute rehabilitation and long-term care. Notably, she contributed to the establishment of a new pediatric facility in 2022, managing its operational and departmental needs. Her recent role at Salma Rehabilitation Center in 2023 saw her delivering occupational therapy services in clinical settings.

Ms. Ebrahim has a keen interest in working with children particularly in school settings addressing various conditions such as Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, physical and neurological disabilities, and psychiatric challenges. She has facilitated specialized clinics for splinting, wheelchair seating, and casting, and has extensive experience in post-COVID rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and assistive device training. She is trained to carry out Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) assessments, and the DIR-Floortime approach to promote functional and emotional development in her clients. She is passionate about helping clients achieve greater independence and quality of life. Her dedication to individualized and holistic interventions ensures clients receive support uniquely tailored to their needs.
