American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology launches the first Multiple
Sclerosis Unit in the UAE
October 2016, Abu Dhabi Joining the fight against Multiple Sclerosis (MS), the
American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology (ACPN) announced yesterday the
launch of the first MS Unit in UAE. Held at Beach Rotana – Abu Dhabi, the launch
along with a seminar was attended by over 160 high profile doctors and medical
experts.
The incurable disease of the central nervous system affects the brain, spinal
cord and optic nerves; typically in early adulthood, often leading to long-term
disability. Early MS symptoms include weakness, tingling, numbness, and blurred
vision. Other signs are muscle stiffness, thinking problems, and urinary
problems. Effective treatment can relieve MS symptoms and delay disease
progression.
