What: World Mental Health Day 2018

When: 10 October 2018

2018 Theme: Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World.

Adolescent Mental Health matters, as well as Adults. #LetsTalk

Adolescence and the early years of adulthood are a time of life when many

changes occur, for example changing schools, leaving home, and starting

university or a new job. Moreover, spending extended hours online and being

exposed to humanitarian emergencies lead to mental distress and illness. These

changes may cause them to experience stressful situations that may cause

depression and other mental health conditions. Keep in mind that everyone is

prone to mental health conditions, Adolescents as well as Adults.

In support of the World Mental Health Day, ‘Young People and Mental Health in a

Changing World.’ Awareness Campaign by the World Health Organization (WHO), the

American Center for Psychiatry and Neurology is conducting the following

activities.

  • Educational Post on Social Media, Follow us (insert social media icons)

  • Media Interviews with Local TVs, Radios and Magazines
  • Public awareness talks for community
  • Continuing Medical Education Lectures to Health Care Professionals
