About Ghena Yaacoub
Ms. Ghena Yaacoub isClinical Psychologist at ACPN. She attained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Saint Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon in 2013. She also obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Saint Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon in 2009.
Ms. Yaacoub has been in the field of mental health for 10 years, working in culturally and professionally diverse settings of patients and medical teams. She served as Clinical Psychologist at NGOs such Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), Amel Association (UNICEF) and Dar Al Amal. Ms. Yaacoub is passionate about mental health awareness and often features on local television and radio shows. Her aim is to combat social stigma and increase recognition and awareness about mental well-being. Ms. Yaacoub adopts an integrative approach to cognitive behavioral therapy – combining psychodynamics and interpersonal therapy to diagnose and treat underlying issues.
She works with children and adults covering a broad range of mental health issues. She is skilled at diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, addiction, interpersonal problems, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, adjustment issues and psychosis. Regarding psychological treatment for children, Ms. Yaacoub tackles behavioral problems in childhood and adolescence, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit disorder (ADD), intellectual disabilities, and children who have experienced trauma, abuse, bereavement, and parental divorce. Ms. Yaacoub provides an integrative approach to help patients manage symptoms, improve their psychological well-being, and establish stronger coping mechanisms.
